Second Story created an interactive experience that celebrates the global quality of the New York City Marathon, one of the world’s most significant annual sporting events, while also recognizing its quintessential New York flavor.
Positioned along 60’ of full-height storefront in a subway station with four million weekly visits, the interactive installation invites passersby to interact with inspiring brand content in several visual layers. With a stylized New York skyline as a backdrop, people first notice that their “shadow” on the wall has revealed content below — a stream of marathoners running in a tight pack. Intrigued by the uncovered activity, a visitor stops and turns to observe. Sensing this, the wall delivers a custom personal animation and a number of messages emphasizing the athleticism and esprit de corps of the marathon.
