Project Overview

These four installations present hypothetical scenarios that visitors might encounter in their communities and challenges them to make decisions about the limits to freedom they will tolerate.

Each of the alcoves surrounding a town square kiosk is devoted to a unique issue, from whether to allow neo-Nazis the right to march or the Gay-Straight Alliance the right to meet in school. In each experience visitors can listen to people in the community express their opinions on each side of the case, then cast their votes to compare their views with how previous museum visitors voted on the issues.
