Culture Mosaics
Three thematic mosaics explore the rich history of the Mexican American community and its relationship with Los Angeles.
Looking to the rich history of Mexican American art, the Culture Mosaics embrace the diversity and range of voices, the individual and shared experiences of identity. Visitors can navigate in-depth stories and explore oral histories, archival film, photographs, and audio recordings. This curated content appears alongside user-contributed content from Twitter and Flickr, and in tandem with stories left by visitors in the onsite Community Voice recording booth. Three installations of the mosaic focus on distinct relevant themes, which together create a tailored experience out of the many voices of the community. Developed in HTML5 with powerful administration capabilities, the interactives are highly scalable and provide for versatility of use in the future.
