An announcement system and a flexible set of gallery furnishings support the changing stories of the Science Pyramid.
The content within each of the digital components of the exhibit can be updated or swapped out using a custom content management system with web interface, allowing the stories of Learning to See to grow and evolve alongside the research at the Gardens. The CMS also provides a simple, intuitive interface to update the Orientation Desk sign, an installation which features the latest announcements and event information and highlights the work of individual scientists who present to visitors on a daily basis.
An interpretive story shown in the Orientation Desk sign uses text and motion graphics to explain how the exhibit as a whole reacts to the weather in the Gardens via the responsive environment, changing in color and speed of animation as the temperature and wind speed increase or decrease.
A flexible, modular set of exhibit furnishings make up the temporary exhibit space in the east side of the Pyramid, allowing the Gardens to feature physical, graphical, and video content for rotating exhibits and to add seating as needed. The form and materials of this set of furnishings match the aesthetic of the exhibit as a whole as well as that of the Pyramid itself.
