Second Story worked with Digimarc to produce a mobile application user experience that harvests the power of their best services.
Digimarc is an industry leader in the world of digital watermarking, they “enable intuitive computing by giving media and everyday objects a persistent digital identity that computers and other digital devices can ‘see, hear, understand and react to.’” Digital watermarking offers myriad opportunities, how can a mobile experience best harness the possibilities? With this question in mind, Second Story set out to develop a strategy that would capitalize on their technology and provide an impactful user experience. To communicate initial concepts, a suite of visualizations were created—sketches illustrate the interface design and flow diagrams show the patterns and paths in the information architecture. Carving out the strategy using simple and versatile tools helped forge the path for wireframes, which further pushed the concept and gradually evolved into fully designed comps for the Digimarc team to implement. The technology is compatible with a variety of media—print, physical objects, video, audio—and the design integrates this array into a unified interface.
