A clean, minimal interface allows visitors to connect to the poignant memorials revealed in detailed images of the quilt panels in the AIDS Names Quilt Project.
The Names Quilt was created in the 1980s to commemorate in a loving fashion the lives lost to AIDS. In keeping with the meditative aspect of the Names project, this interactive kiosk allows visitors to view detailed images of a selection of quilt blocks, both as a slideshow and laid out in a larger grid as the panels often appeared when on display. A section on the larger project shows images of the places—stadiums, the Mall in D.C.—where the quilt blocks have been visited, and some of the individuals involved in the project.
