World War I Portrait Wall
As visitors arrive at the National World War I Museum they confront the faces of men and women of the Great War who are identified and interpreted in these media installations.
Comprised of ten large-scale monitors embedded in a frosted glass wall, the Portrait Wall continually cycles photographs of men and women involved in WWI, acknowledging the sacrifices made in what for many is the forgotten war. Each screen is paired with a small interactive touch screen that allows visitors to browse the portraits and learn the identity of those military and civilian, domestic and foreign, unsung and honored individuals who experienced the conflict unlike any other ever known.
